Frequently Asked Questions
What grading scale does this use?
The standard US 4.0 scale: A=4.0, A-=3.7, B+=3.3, B=3.0, B-=2.7, C+=2.3, C=2.0, C-=1.7, D+=1.3, D=1.0, D-=0.7, F=0.0. If your institution uses a different scale, the weighted-average logic still applies but the grade points won't match exactly.
How is GPA calculated?
Each course's grade points are multiplied by its credit hours, these are summed across all courses, then divided by the total credit hours — a credit-weighted average, not a simple average of grades.
